Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, composite decking from all manufacturers gets hot, some brands/series more than others. Trex offers their 'Sun Comfortable' products to help keep their decking cooler.
Yes, we call that a reface. We can use your existing framing and footings once we've inspected them and determined them to be usable. We then add blocking as needed, Trex Protect joist tape, then install new decking and railing. Stairs are always rebuilt.
You bet we do! We end up doing more reface projects than new builds, but Deckworks works 12 months a year, as long as the weather cooperates!
Trex products are warranted to not fade or stain to up to 50 years.
No, the standard is to use typical treated lumber for the framing. We do offer PWT structural framing, which can achieve better spans and comes with a warranty. We have also used steel framing in certain projects that needed a different solution.
Very rarely do we use concrete footings. We are a certified installer of Pier Tech helical pier footings. This engineered galvanized steel footing is the best in the business.
Yes, we offer financing and other payment options. ACH is the most common payment type used, a direct transfer between US bank accounts. We also accept credit card payments, but we do charge an extra 3% for this option. For financing, you'll have to let us know what you are looking for so we can check the current rates as there are extra fees involved.
That's a tough one to answer, as it really depends on the deck. Most of our 'normal' projects cost between $20,000-$40,000, but every deck is different. Best option is to give us a call and get a free estimate!
Deckworks Cedar Valley started building composite decks in 2010 and has been a TrexPro Platinum since 2011. No other contractor in Eastern Iowa does more projects every year!
